The Swedish NMR Centre and the Department of Clinical Nutrition at the University of Gothenburg, together with SLU, arrange a workshop on metabolomics October 29-30 2012.
The two-day workshop is focused on the use of metabolomics in systems biology, nutrition and medicine. Metabolomics is the latest addition to Omics technologies and offers opportunities to globally study a large quantity of the metabolites found in an organism using NMR or mass spectrometric techniques in combination with advanced statistical processing of data. Discovering differences in the metabolite profile can give important clues to the underlying mechanisms for the observed effects and new biomarkers can be identified.
The venue is Academicum, Medicinaregatan 3, the Arvid Carlsson auditorium. The symposium is free of charge for a maximum number of 120 registered participants (including sandwich, coffee and buffet dinner).
SPONSORS: CEROSS research School, FORMAS, the University of Gothenburg the Swedish Agricultural University and the Sahlgrenska University Hospital
Organizers: Lars Ellegård, Göran Karlsson, Rikard Landberg and Anna Winkvist
