User fees

The charged cost for use of NMR spectrometers is based on the actual cost. For academic users that means running costs, handling and general service costs. Costs for rent and depreciation are only included for industrial users. The variation in costs between spectrometers is based on the actual use of cryogens, service costs and handling costs. For magnets with sample changers, the cost is based on the hourly use whereas for spectrometers w/o sample changers, cost is considered on a daily/weekly basis.

Users pay the cost for consumables, specifically NMR tubes that are required for use of the automatic asmple changer-equipped spectrometers. The cost for one tube is 12 SEK, a rack of 96 tubes is 1200 SEK.

No cost is charged for initial setup of NMR experiments and data acquisition. Additional staff support is 700 SEK/h for academic users and 1400 SEK/h for industrial users.

For projects in the application areas of structural biology, metabolomics, chemical biology an small molecule NMR, other cost models can apply for access and support in accordance with SciLifeLab policy. Contact the research infrastructure for information on support models for these application areas.
